Monday Morning Motivation

I know that for many of us, Monday Mornings are a rough start to the week... but they keep on coming! That's why I came up with the Monday Morning Motivation so that I am assured to start the week off in the right frame of mind.  So grab your favorite cup of coffee and a comfy seat and join me for the Monday Morning motivator...

I can't believe how long it's been since I've done this! Wow, summer really does get my schedule all messed up! Well schedule is good nice dependable  consistent once we're all back to school...

So even though getting back into the swing of things can be a tad bit exhausting it's a really good thing in our house! Does routine make things run smoother in your house? I like schedules and organization, consistency and dependability so routine is a friend of mine!

Now that we're back to school and back into our routine I plan to really get things under-control in our home! Boys will be back on track with some chores, schoolwork and less FREEtime! As for me, its time to get back into a regular daily devotion time, more wood-working and more girl-time!

Are there things you'd like to do more of? Things that you've been slacking in and want to get back to or just something you've been wanting to learn to do or just try out?  Now is the time! Stop waiting and get moving! There's no time like the present so get out there and make your dreams a reality.

Well winter in Indiana is a roller coaster, to say the least, so we never really know what to expect from day to day (and if you try to guess what is going to happen you will most likely always be wrong).  So this morning I woke up and ...

See I went to bed expecting a 2 hour delay so that's what I get... a day off.  The part that's truly excited about this outcome is that I have a snow day, but my kids... had a 2hour delay!!! Now you know that's not meant to be mean, but instead it's a mom thinking of all the things she can get done today (or all the things she might not get done and still be smiling 😊).

So I'm faced with a Monday and a Snow Day all in one...

Today my motivation comes in an effort to simply be a better me.  I rarely make new year's resolutions, but I have decided that it's not a resolution but a conserted effort to be better. Be better health, better spirit, better citizen.  These things simply come in doing things like making time for me (because that is better for my health, my spirit, my family...) As a mom, I think the tendency is to try and do everything for everyone else; be the best employee, mom, wife and friend, thinking of yourself last which makes this impossible.

So this morning I ask thhat we all take a moment to think about ourselves.  Are you taking the time to take care of you or are you running crazy trying to do for everyone.  This week it's a new day, a new YOU.  Plan to do something for yourself this week that is only for you.

On this cold and dreary Monday morning in Indiana, I'm finding it very hard to be motivated. Of course I got up, got dressed and even made it to work on time, but I'm still not feeling productive.

Do you ever have those days?! You know what I mean...the kind where you simply don't want to do anything at all?!  How do you get yourself going? Share your tricks because today I'm failing... EPIC fail as my boys would say.

Monday Morning Motivation

It seems that with age comes many new things... wrinkles, added weight, more responsibilities, menopause etc, but fortunately, the saying is correct that with age comes wisdom.  Wisdom comes from experiences; knowledge from growth, successes, failures, pain and joys.  I'm not sure what brought it on, but this weekend had me thinking about the wisdom I've gained over the past few years. As I approach another birthday, I realize that I continually change... grow and mature.  I am slower to anger (most of the time), slower to get emotional and slower to act before thinking.

I am proud of the person that I've been in my youth, but I feel better about who I am as I age.  Not because I'm embarrassed of things I've done or because I regret choices I've made but because I've learned so much from the life I've lived so far... I hope to keep learning, to keep growing and to keep gaining wisdom each and every day.

Lord, help me to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

Unfortunately, last week was a bit challenging... the kids were more unruly than normal and work was extremely challenging which made it very difficult t keep a positive attitude. I've decided that I need to think of a few of my favorite things (Thanks Maria ;)  Lets hope that this will help me readjust:

                                         1.

Fall.. my favorite season! Crispness in the air, changing colors and hoodie sweatshirts.

                                           2.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes! Mmm Mmm good! Pumpkin anything.

                                     3.

My adorable CoCo kitty! Saved from a dumpster at 2weeks old he's almost 1yr and I LOVE him!

                                   4.

I'm sorry but if Adam doesn't make you happy...

                                                             5

There is always something beautiful... just look around

So for this week, I'm going to try and focus on the positive side of things.  To try and think happy thoughts, remember a few of my favorite things... and most importantly PRAY without ceasing!  How about you try it too...

Monday Morning Motivation

I know that for many of us, Monday Mornings are a rough start to the week... but they keep on coming!                                                This cup may not even be large enough for today!

If you've read my blog at all you know that I've been a busy woman over the past few years... went back to school and got a dual license in Elementary Education and Special Education as well as started my own little business call Repurposed with A Purpose.  Both of these things have been a joy and a headache challenge at times.  Well right now the teaching thing is giving me the most stress.  Unfortunately, I know lots of great people looking to get a classroom to call their own and there just don't seem to be enough classrooms for all of us :(.  My girlfriend who also teaches has told me repeatedly "Don't stress out, they hire even after schoool starts" but in my mind I'm hearing ... "you spent a lot of time and money to get these degrees and you can't find a job?!"

I know, I know she's right and I'm wrong, but I'm just not a patient person.  So if you know a principal that is in need of a hard-working, punctual, determined, creative, super cool, super fun, super awesome teacher tell them to  give me a call...ASAP!

Until then, I'm going to continue making some signs, building benches and tables, and relaxing by painting and creating...

As we approach the 4th of July, I am thinking about Independence and what it takes to get that.  Most importantly, I am thinking of those men and women that have helped us gain that Independence.

I have been blessed to be friends with a beautiful military family that has a mission in life to help take care of others... military families in particular.  The Folds of Honor Foundation was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, a former F-16 pilot, golf course owner, PGA Professional and USGA member. A Major in the Air National Guard and a decorated military aviator, Rooney has served three combat tours in Iraq. After returning from his second tour, Major Rooney witnessed a profound situation that drove him to create the Folds of Honor Foundation. The Folds of Honor is an organization that works to take care of military families that have had loss or injury due to their service.  Raising money to send children of fallen soldiers to school, help famillies keep their homes and try to carry  on a normal life after pain and tradgedy is just part of their mission.

I am s grateful that their is a way for me to be a part of this amazing journey!! Patriot Shoootout Indiana is a golf outing and gala used to raise money for the Folds of Honor.  There's an evening of dressing up, bidding on Silent Auction items and then listening to tear jerking stories of how this organization have helped so many families.  Next day raise more money by golfing! Winner of the Indiana Shootout gets to go to the Patriot Shootout in Oklahoma to golf at Dan Rooney's course with celebrities and men and women who serve or have served us proudly.  AMAZING EVENT! AMAZING ORGANIZATION!

Join me August 22, 2014 at The Columbia Club; Indianapolis,  IN for the gala and then
August 23, 2014 at The Legends golf course in Franklin, IN for The Patriot Shoootout Indiana

I would not have expected to be up and ready presentable  going at 9am on Monday morning during my summer break! Oh but alas, it comes down to my kids... they'd hate to be referred to as kids because with one teenage boy and one tween boy they somehow  think they're full grown men.  Anyway, this summer has been a busy one, but this mornning I'm choosing to be grateful that I have the summer to be with my boys.

When you're in the midst of raising young ones you can feel overwhelmed and exhausted, praying that this time would end, but be careful... it goes so da** dang incredibly fast! Because my oldest is getting ready to drive, I've had time recently to think back and realize that those days when I thought I'd never make  through simply flew by!  I coudn't see it then and still rush some days away with my 10 year old, but I also realize it goes so FAST that I have to remember to slow down and enjoy the moments as they happen.

With that all said, today's Monday Morning motivation is to slow down... take each day as it comes... smell the roses... make lemonade out of lemons and margaritas out of limes! Count to 10 when you think you can't handle the kids anymore because they'll be gone before we know it...

Monday Morning Motivator

I know that Monday mornings are not the easiest and darn it they just keep coming!  This is why I decided to come up with my Monday Morning Motivation...a way to start the week off right.  Grab your favorite cup of Joe, a comfy seat and join me for a little Monday Morning encouragement...

This morning, I'm stealing my encouragement from my friend and WTHR news woman, Nicole Pence ( if you don't watch WTHR what's wrong with you?!) just kidding, but if you watch you already notice that Nicole is always an upbeat, smiling face filled with positive thoughts and words...believe me this is her everyday personality not just an on air persona!

Anyway, I've gotten side tracked :). This morning this is what Nicole posted on Facebook :

God created each of us to be an original; special, unique and perfect, so why must we'd try so desperately to fit in and be like everyone else?!  The pressure to be a copy of someone else is so intense! As I spend each day walking the halls of a middle school, I am reminded of how hard it is to survive each day. At this time in our lives, many of us didn't realize how special we were and how we were created just as we are for a reason.

My goal today...and for many days to follow, is to remember that I was created uniquely perfect by the One who knows much better than me! I am a one of a kind original and no one is as good at being me than me so I'll make today the best I can and make me the best ME that I can be...

Monday Morning Motivator

I know that Mondays are tough for many of us and darn it they just keep coming around! That's why I decided to start my Monday mornings with my favorite cup of latte and a special motivation to get my day off to the right start.  So grab yourself a cup of joe and a comfy seat and join me for some Monday morning motivation...

Well this is week 2 back to school and I'm doing things a bit differently...mostly because I can't seem to get my butt out of bed early enough to really start my days off right.  This too shall pass...because it must :)

If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you
will always look lovely.
~Roald Dahl

When I read this quote I was immediately in love with it! What a profound statement yet so incredibly simple... Live your life in such a way that the positive out ways the negatives...look at the bright side of things...the glass 1/2 full instead of 1/2 empty ...the silver lining to every cloud...

This will make every Monday a little more Marvelous :)

Monday Morning Motivator

I know that Monday mornings are tough for many of us and darn it if it doesn't keep coming around.  That's why I've created my Monday morning motivator....so crap a cup of latte, a comfy seat and join me for a little motivation this Monday morning!

Today marks the first day back to school...teacher day! It's always exciting to go back and see everyone after the summer break but it's so sad to know that the downtime with my kids is over. This week will mark a huge new adventure in our house as we have a high schooler now! I can't believe that Cole is a freshman...how time flies. So this morning I am reflecting on how fast things change and starting off a new school year; for all of us, in the most positive way!

"For I know the plans I have for you, " said The Lord "plans for a good future and hope."           Jeremiah 29:11 paraphrased

Let's go and make today the amazing one that God has planned for us...

Monday Morning Motivator

For many of us, Monday morning is a tough one and darn it if it doesn't just keep coming around! I've decided to start my Mondays with my favorite cup of latte and a special motivator to get me in the right frame of mind. So grab your cup of coffee, get in a comfy seat and enjoy some Monday morning motivation...

" For I know the plans I have made for you, declares The Lord,
plans for your welfare and not evil. Plans for hope and future."
                                  Jeremiah 29:11

No matter what I'm feeling like on this Monday morning, I know that God has planned great things for me. He has not intended to do me harm in anyway so I can rejoice and know that all is well! In this I can count my blessings and just breathe because He's already got it under control.  So today when you feel as if things are getting out of control or when you simply don't feel like it's what it should be remember God has a plan for you and it's a plan for GOOD not bad...it'll all work out as he planned!

Monday Morning Motivator

Monday mornings are a tough thing for many of us and yet they always come around! So I've decided to start my Mondays with my favorite latte and some special motivation to get me in the right frame of mind. Grab your cup, pull up a comfy seat and join me for my Monday Morning Motivation...

"Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might." Ecclesiastes 9:10

So today's thought is that whatever you do, do it with all that you have in you regardless of the day or the situation. My mother always told me that I must be proud of whatever I put my name on so always do my best! So today I will try to go out and do the best in all that I do...you do the same and have a Happy Monday!
